Non-Profits Supporting Maine Cannabis
The state of Maine has a loyal and supportive following when it comes to both medical and recreational Maine cannabis. Our beautiful state believes in a natural way of healing, and we have many organizations and caregiver storefronts to attest to that. Our latest blog will highlight various non-profits in our state that support Maine cannabis, such as the Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine, the Maine Hemp Association, and the Office of Marijuana Policy (OMP Maine). We love our community and everything these organizations stand for, and believe they deserve proper recognition! Maine Growers Alliance
The Maine Growers Alliance was created with small and medium craft cannabis cultivators in mind. It is their goal to ensure the security and safety of these smaller cannabis companies that aim to provide their patients with the highest quality, and affordable cannabis and products while maintaining the high standards of in cannabis cultivation in the state. The Maine Growers Alliance supports the rights of cannabis activists A large portion of their efforts goes to raising money for partnerships and lobbying associations to both pursue our agendas and endorse theirs. The Maine Growers Alliance also supports other non-profits in and out of the cannabis industry such as Over the Moon Foundation which is a medical cannabis donation program.
Maine Cannabis Coalition 
The Maine Cannabis Coalition has a sole mission to support the caregivers and patients that participate in Maine’s Medical Marijuana Program. This non-profit organization aims to protect affordable, and safe access for cannabis patients, business owners, and caregivers. In 2020, the Maine Cannabis Coalition, also known as the United Cannabis Patients and Caregivers was established in 2020 by Dawson Julia and Sarah Meehan. Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine
In 2010, the Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine (MMCM) began as one of the first non-profit trade associations in the United States dedicated to providing safe and affordable access to the medical marijuana patients of Maine. The Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine has developed a training program for individuals who wish to participate in the state’s cannabis programs, helping them stay compliant and promoting safe practices. The MMC lives by the motto; Educate, Advocate, Legislate, and are always looking for new members and volunteers. Their website features fundraisers, cannabis-friendly businesses, a caregiver directory, plus a list of their events like Monthly Network Meetings and Caregiver Business Class!
Maine Women’s Cannabis Connection
The Maine Women’s Cannabis Connection was created with a goal to bring women in the Maine cannabis community together. Through fundraising events and networking, they have been able to unite women who share the same goals, passions and opinions. Their efforts go towards raising money for charities, foundations, and other non-profit organizations. Our core values are empowerment, respect, integrity, resilience, positivity, and responsibility. Maine Children For Cannabis Therapy
Founded in 2013, the Maine Children for Cannabis Therapy (MCCT) was developed from desperate mothers looking to for a way to relieve their child’s epilepsy. Sarah Meehan from the Maine Cannabis Coalition and Samantha Brown came together to provide a place to support children with the same diagnosis. As their mission became more public, they discovered more parents in the state wanted to provide their children with relief through cannabis. The MCCT supports families looking for a natural way of healing and assists in finding supportive doctors, marijuana caregivers, and safe, quality products.
